Waterton Lakes

June 11-14, 2020



Day 1 - We depart making our way to Nanton to the Bomber Command Museum.   After completing our guided tour of the museum we sit down and enjoy lunch (included in your package). Great things come in small packages as we explore the Museum of Miniatures.  With several exhibits to see including the latest recreation of the Old West. Continuing on our travels to Waterton with exceptional sights of clear lakes, thundering waterfalls, rainbow-colored streams, colourful rocks and mountain vistas.  We will be spending the next three nights in this picturesque town.

Day 2 - This morning is at your leisure to take in the scenery of Waterton Lake.  The afternoon will entail making our way to the beautiful Beauvais Lake Provincial Park nestled in the rolling hills. We carry on to Heritage Acres Farm Museum with its extensive collection of pioneer and farm related artifacts.  Our night is completed with great food, warm family hospitality and lively entertainment at the Great Canadian Barn Dance. Starting with their famous western dinner, then we sit back and relax while the members of the Kunkel clan entertain you.

Day 3 - After an entertainment filled evening you have the morning on your own. Our afternoon starts with a cruise on Waterton Lake, the world’s first international peace park. Discover the Jewel of the Rockies as we cruise along the shoreline of the upper Waterton Lake. Bring your camera and enjoy some of the most spectacular mountain scenery the Rocky Mountains have to offer. View majestic towering cliffs, unique geological formations, beautiful waterfalls, snow clad mountain peaks and the International Border. We will then disembark the cruise and make our way to the prestige Prince of Whales hotel for afternoon tea.  A true historic Canadian icon, the Prince of Wales Hotel offers an experience like no other. Views from the hotel lobby and lawn are magnificent panoramas of Waterton Lake and the surrounding mountains in Waterton Lakes National Park.  This evening is yours to enjoy and take a few more picturesque images of Waterton.

Day 4 - Making our way back home today enjoy the scenic drive thru the Bison paddock to capture images of them grassing. Keep your cameras out as we stop at Lundbreck falls to take in the natural beauty of the falls on the Crowsnest river. Lunch will be on your own in Bragg Creek,  an assortment of eateries to choose from. Expected time of arrival in Red Deer 5pm.
