Waterton Lakes



4 days June 1-4, 2017



Day 1 - We depart making our way to Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump world heritage site which is one of the oldest and largest best preserved buffalo jumps.  We will first have lunch upon arrival which is included in your package.  Following lunch we will have a guided tour of Head Smashed in Buffalo jump explaining the history of the world heritage site.  We will then make our way to Waterton Lakes National park featuring clear lakes, thundering waterfalls, rainbow colored streams, colorful rocks and mountain vistas. We will be staying in Waterton for the duration of the tour.

Day 2 -
This morning is at your leisure to take in the scenery of Waterton Lakes.  This afternoon we make our way to the Remington Carriage Museum.  Here you will have a guided tour and film and time to see the largest collection of horse drawn vehicles in North America with over 270 carriages, buggies, wagons and sleighs.  It wouldn't be complete without a carriage ride before departing for the Great Canadian Barn Dance.  Arriving at the Barn dance we will start our evening with their famous western dinner, after which we sit back and relax and let the members of the Klunkel clan entertain you.


Day 3 - After an entertain filled evening you have the morning on your own. This afternoon we set out on the Waterton Shoreline cruise.  Bring your camera and enjoy some of the most spectacular mountain scenery the Rocky Mountains have to offer. View majestic towering cliffs, unique geological formations, beautiful waterfalls, snow clad mountain peaks and the International Border. We will then disembark the cruise and make our way to the prestige Prince of Whales hotel for afternoon tea.  A true historic Canadian icon, the Prince of Wales Hotel offers an experience like no other. Views from the hotel lobby and lawn are magnificent panoramas of Waterton Lake and the surrounding mountains in Waterton Lakes National Park.  This evening is yours to enjoy and take a few more picturest images of Waterton.

Day 4 - Making our way back home today enjoying the scenic drive tour to Red Rock Canyon with colorful roadside wildflowers and views of hanging valleys, alpine meadows, and jagged mountain peaks. Arriving at the Canyon, many visitors remark on the striking colors of the bedrock layers. The layers of red and green colored minerals offer a brilliant contrast to each other and the lush surroundings.  With a lunch stop in Pincher Creek traveling on to arrive approximately at 6pm in Red Deer.
