Join us as we tour Newfoundland
  14 days Thursday June 13, 2019- Wednesday June 26, 2019 

On this tour we fly into St John's, tour Newfoundland from the east coast to west, and fly back to Alberta from Deer Lake
Day 1 June 13
We depart from Calgary at 9:30AM, layover in Toronto about 2 hours, then continue our flight into St John's.
Arrival time in St John's 9:40PM
We spend the next 5 nights at Sheraton Hotel in St John's

Day 2 June 14
Exploring St John's, starting with a guided city tour, Signal Hill, Quidi Vidi, Cape Spear


Day 3 June 15

It's a full day today as we explore the Irish Loop travelling along the southeastern part of Avalon Peninsula. A break from travel with a Puffin and Whale watch boat tour, and a visit to Ferryland Visitor Centre, known as the best preserved early English colonial site in North America.
                                
                                           


Day 4 June 16
Enjoy the community of Brigus on Conception Bay, and visit Hawthorne Cottage, home of Captain Bob Bartlett. (The cottage was closed during the 2018 season for renovations, and may not be open yet in 2019). Our next stop is Cupids Legacy Centre, the Birthplace of English Canada. Take a picture of Amelia Earhardt's statue in Harbour Grace


Day 5, June 17
A quiet day today with admission to The Rooms, St. John's museum dedicated to Natural and Cultural history, and the Railway Coastal Museum.
Day 6 June 18
We travel from St John's to Clarenville today, stopping at the Cable Station in Heart's Content, the first permanent telegraph cable connecting Europe and North America
Wednesday June 19
It's the Discovery Trail today, including Trinity, Cape Bonavista. We spend 2 nights at Comfort Inn Gander

Thursday June 20
An exciting day travelling the Road to the Isles.  Our first visit will be the Beothuk Interpretive Centre, then lunch and an show at Twillingate Dinner Theatre.  The afternoon is full as we visit Isles Wooden Boat Builder museum, St Peter's Anglican Church,and Twillingate Museum

Friday June 21
We make our way from Gander to Deer Lake visiting the North Atlantic Aviation museum and the Salmoid Interpretive Centre....imagine... a now-extinct people with a unique language and culture, thriving on the rich resources of the land and sea. Next 2 nights Holiday Inn Express Deer Lake
Saturday June 22
A day to relax as we make a short tour to Corner Brook area




Sunday June 23
It's the Viking Trail today, and a guided tour at the Viking Centre in St. Lunaire, the most northerly tip of the island of Newfoundland.  Travel back in time to where the Vikings once stood.  2 nights at Hotel North St Anthony


Monday June 24
Explore St Anthony, learn the roll Sir Wilfred Thomason Grenfell,a medical missionary played in the history of Newfoundland. Hopefully icebergs will be in abundance. Enjoy an evening Viking Feast and show
Tuesday June 25
Our day begins with a boat tour to see the icebergs up close, then we travel back to Deer Lake. After an evening farewell dinner together it's off to bed...early flight home tomorrow
Wednesday June 26
Our flight departs Deer Lake at 5:50AM, stopping in Toronto, arriving back in Calgary at 11:15AM
