Fri Aug 5: We start our tour travelling into Saskatchewan through Wainwright to Prince Albert, the third largest city in Saskatchewan, named for Queen Victoria’s Consort

Sat Aug 6: The day begins with a tour of the Diefenbaker house museum. The house was built in 1912 and purchased by the Prime Minister of Canada, John Deifenbaker, in 1947. In 1975 the Deifenbaker’s donated the house to the City of Prince Albert to be converted into a museum. After lunch, we travel into Manitoba to The Pas-Known as Manitoba’s “Gateway to the North”

Sun Aug 7: On our way to Thompson, with a detour we visit Flin Flon, a Manitoba- Saskatchewan border mining town. We enjoy a guided tour of Flin Flon before arriving in Thompson.

Mon Aug 8: A leisurely day with a local guide in Thompson, exploring the sights of the town and the surrounding area. Late afternoon we board the Via Rail to Churchill.  Our train ride departs @ 5 pm & we travel through the night arriving approximately 9am in Churchill.   
*note we have only been able to reserve 4 single and 4 double cabins at this time. Book early to secure a cabin.  Once the cabins are sold, you will be in economy class in reclining seats.




Tues Aug 9: Hello Churchill! The town sits on the west shore of Hudson Bay, known for it’s Beluga whales in summer and Polar Bears in winter. The train will be met by a local company who will be showing us Churchill over the next 3 days. This afternoon we depart for our Beluga whale and Fort Prince of Wales boat tour. Come eye to eye with the amiable Belugas. From June to September approximately 3000 of these unique white whales visit the Churchill river and approximately 60,000 come into the Hudson Bay area.

Wed Aug 10: A full day tour including sights of the murals, Cape Merry, the bear jail, grain terminal and MV Ithaca, a British-flagged steamship built in 1922 that ran aground on Sept 14, 1060

Thurs Aug 11:. The morning starts with a guided Tundra tour. Depending on weather we may be lucky to see some Polar bears.
We will visit the Itsanitag (Eskimo) Museum today, then late afternoon we fly back to Thompson

Fri Aug 12: We start our way south after a visit to the Heritage North museum in Thompson. The mission of this museum is to promote and preserve the heritage and history of the Thompson area. See native animals, a boreal forest diorama, First Nation, fur trade and mining artifacts. Overnight in The Pas
